제목: Fast physically-based land surface model emulator 연사: Dr. Roman Olson (University of Tokyo) 일시: 2023년 10월 17일 화요일 11:00 장소: 과학관 553호 Abstract: Land surface models are common tools to model runoff and other soil variables. However, they are too computationally expensive for some applications, such as uncertainty quantification, efficient coupling with economic models, probabilistic prediction, etc. This limits their practical use.
Here I develop a fast, physically-guided land model (emulator) that approximates MATSIRO land surface model. The emulator takes only seconds to compute decadal-scale land surface simulations. The input is daily scale near-surface atmospheric temperature, specific humidity, pressure, rainfall and snowfall. The output is daily-scale snow water equivalent, wetland water storage, upper layer soil moisture, and runoff. The emulator reproduces main features of MATSIRO during cross-validation. The emulator can be used on a range of spatial scales, from near-local to regional to global.
Future plans include coupling the emulator with river flow routing, integrated assessments and economic models to speed up computational time. |
