Abstract:

​​Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) are complex central structures composed of an accretion disk, a broad line region, and a dusty torus. Because these structures are physically small, direct imaging is challenging, making it difficult to investigate the detailed physics of each component. Instead, their properties can be effectively explored through their variability across multiple wavelengths. This talk will present our current understanding of AGN central structures, focusing on the variability characteristics of nearby AGNs from ultraviolet to mid-infrared wavelengths and their implications for revealing the physical properties of accretion disks and dusty tori. Finally, a brief introduction to the SPHEREx mission, an all-sky spectroscopic survey in the near-infrared, will be provided, discussing its potential contributions to advancing our knowledge of AGN physics and galaxy evolution.​
