Abstract: Many spacecraft have been launched since the advent of the spaceflight era, and numerous space missions, ranging from planetary exploration to space technology validation, have been planned. Recently, in-space servicing technologies such as inspection, refueling, repair, and maintenance have received increasing attention, not only for extending the lifespan of aging and/or malfunctioning spacecraft but also for enabling sustainable space missions. This seminar covers various space operations, including fundamental knowledge related to in-space servicing. In particular, it discusses several key approaches involved in in-space servicing missions, such as autonomous spacecraft inspection for health monitoring prior to servicing, safe maneuvering for close approaches to client spacecraft, and proximity operations using robotic platforms to provide services. Corresponding results are also presented.
