Abstract:

Radiation from stars and the active galactic nuclei has profound impact on the formation and evolution of galaxies. In this talk, I will present a cosmological zoom-in simulations of a group field dwarf galaxies with on-the-fly radiative transfer down to z = 0.  Radiation from the ultraviolet background is propagated through the simulation volume to mimic the process of reionisation, rather than being turned on instantaneously. This enables the formation of ultrafaint dwarfs (UFDs) which contains only old stellar populations. I will discuss the interplay between radiative and supernova feedback, and their impact on the cusp-core transformation. Finally, I will show how the properties and evolution of the CGM can be a sensitive probe of all feedback processes.​
