일시: 2024년 5월 3일 금요일 11:00 장소: 과학관 B101호 Abstract: Radio astronomy utilizes a broad spectrum of electromagnetic waves, spanning several logarithmic decades. The development of various instruments capable of covering this extensive bandwidth has catalyzed groundbreaking discoveries in astronomy and astrophysics. In this talk, I will discuss the process of designing and implementing radio astronomy instrumentation, beginning with the scientific objectives. Specifically, I will share my experience from the experimental work on developing a very-long-baseline interferometry receiver for the South Pole Telescope, a project that enabled direct observations of supermassive black holes.
