Abstract:

It is planned that the Roman Space Telescope will perform three Core Community Surveys: the Galactic Bulge Time Domain Survey, the High Latitude Wide Survey, and the High Latitude Time Domain Survey. These surveys are designed to reach the Roman mission’s science goals in cosmology and exoplanet demographics. Caltech/IPAC is playing a major role in organizing the Core Community Surveys and in planning the mission. I will present the scientific goals of the Roman mission and the steps that are being taken at IPAC to ensure that the mission succeeds. I will discuss my upcoming role in the Roman Microlensing Science Operations System. In addition, I will present my interests in the Roman mission for weak-lensing studies.
